"We signed up for 30 minutes to just try it out, test the apps, and see if he felt comfortable. He was really happy afterwards. This is a great new avenue for us!"
"We were just a little skeptical about trying the online platform because we like having you here! It is very interactive and she loves that everything is so visual and then she is able to save it for later!"
"She said it was sooo helpful to see you write stuff out. I think she felt encouraged about taking the test."
New for 2018-2019 will be online tutoring sessions using Zoom Video Conferencing and the Bitpaper virtual whiteboard. These web-based platforms are easy to use and include audio/video chat, screen share, a collaborative and interactive whiteboard, TI-84 graphing calculator, file sharing, and the ability to save all our lessons to PDF. Scheduling and payment are done easily and securely below. Try a free 30-minute session by using coupon code FIRSTSESSION!
Students will need the following:
- A computer, laptop, or Chromebook with a webcam, speakers, and microphone
- A stable high-speed internet connection
- Google Chrome browser
- A comfortable spot in a quiet room
- A quick and easy "Scan to PDF" app on a phone or iPad in order to upload and share any non-digital printed assignments to our session - I use Cam Scanner.
Optional but not required:
- I will be using this Wacom Tablet to write on the whiteboard. This tablet is recommended but not required for students. If a student has an iPad with Apple Pen, this can be used as a tablet as well.
Online tutoring sessions are available on a first come, first served basis and times can be selected from the scheduler below. Sessions can be booked in 30, 45, or 60 minute blocks.
I recommend an online session length of at least 45 minutes for all math levels up to Algebra I. I recommend a 1-hour minimum for Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calc, and SAT/ACT. I see the most success with students who spend 1.5 - 2 hours per week spread over two days. An example being a 1-hour session on Monday and then a 30-45 minute session in the middle or end of the week. A 30-minute session is only recommended for students that are experiencing success but need to brush-up on a few homework or test review questions.
In-home tutoring sessions may only be scheduled through phone, text, or email!
*Please read above before booking. Check online scheduler frequently for openings. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday tutoring slots tend to open on the day of, so be sure to check back often! Students may book with as little as 3 hours notice and up to 7 days in advance. If you do not see an available time within 7 days, contact me. Also, check different session lengths to see if your preferred time is available. Use code FIRSTSESSION for a free 30-minute online lesson!
